- Observing & Critiquing: Observing and critiquing a receptive skills lesson.
- Subskills & Coherence: Raising awareness about the receptive subskills and sequencing a receptive skills lesson coherently through the receptive-productive cycle.
- Reading Lesson Model: Examining a model reading lesson plan written by an experienced teacher.
Teaching Productive Skills
- Starting from Scratch: Learning how to start a speaking lesson from scratch.
- Coherence & Scaffolding: Exploring the sequence of a coherent productive skills lesson and raising awareness about the necessity of scaffolding.
- Writing & Speaking Model Lesson Plans: Examining model writing and speaking lesson plans written by an experienced teacher.
Teaching Vocabulary
- Vocabulary Teaching Occasions: Exploring the four main occasions where we should teach vocabulary.
- Elicitation Techniques: Examining the most effective elicitation techniques and the art of writing effective and relevant CCQs.
- ECDW Technique: Raising awareness about the ECDW technique and its rationale.
Teaching Grammar
- Observing & Critiquing: Observing and critiquing a grammar lesson.
- Reviewing Techniques: Reviewing elicitation, concept checking, and a variety of drilling techniques.
- Sequencing: Sequencing a text-based grammar lesson coherently.
Teaching Functional Language
- Anticipating Problems & Solutions: Anticipating problems and solutions with the target language.
- Observing & Critiquing: Observing and critiquing a functional language lesson.
- MPF & Challenges: Reviewing the most structural elements of teaching and exploring the challenges of teaching lower-level students.
